Leilani Rudow Beaver

Leilani Rudow Beaver founded Beaver Legal Corporation in 2021 with a mission to provide clients with thoughtful and comprehensive legal advice, campaign finance and tax reporting and treasury services.  Through her decades of experience, Leilani recognizes that her clients’ understanding and practical application of the complex laws is instrumental to accomplishing that mission.         

Her career as an attorney began in 2006 at Kaufman Legal Group, a Los Angeles based law firm specializing in election, political, governmental and nonprofit/tax exempt law. There, she represented nonprofits, social welfare organizations, labor unions, candidates, political action committees, business organizations and individual donors on a national, statewide, and local level. In addition to advising clients on federal, state, and local campaign finance laws, Leilani advised nonprofit and other tax-exempt organizations on the tax implications of engaging in political and lobbying activities and the associated registration and reporting obligations.  She has also advised and assisted clients with enforcement actions, complaints, and regulatory agency audits, and assisted organizations with applying for reinstatement of their nonprofit and tax-exempt status after revocation by the Internal Revenue Service and the Franchise Tax Board.      

Leilani first joined Kaufman Legal Group in 2000 as a compliance analyst and steadily rose through the ranks to become Director of the firm's Political Compliance Department in 2002.  In this role, Leilani mastered the practical needs surrounding the day-to-day management and operations of tax-exempt organizations and political campaigns.  As a result of her years in the Political Compliance Department, Leilani obtained hands-on experience and expertise assisting nonprofits, social welfare organizations, labor unions, candidates, political action committees, business organizations and individual donors with their treasury and compliance reporting.  

Drawing on this broad spectrum of skills and experience, Leilani endeavors to guide her clients through the constantly changing nonprofit, tax-exempt and campaign finance laws and provide them with practical advice and best practice recommendations to prevent compliance issues.

In her spare time, Leilani enjoys reading, crafting and cooking with her three daughters. She also volunteers as a mentor to high school juniors and seniors on their college aspirations and potential career paths.
